Inspirational Notes From a Mastermind Meeting

    July 20, 2010
  • I just had to blog this week about the fantastic plans that came out of our Costa Mesa Mastermind group last week!  I want to share them with you, and encourage each one of you to go out and employ these same ideas among your own circle of friends and colleagues - and harness that unique energy that resonates among women who know each other.  You know what I'm talking about - when we put our minds to communicating and supporting one another, we leave men in the dust, and it's eerie what we can do!

Here are the great ideas I want to share:

Robin Barr, owner of Cold Sores Begone & Canker Sores Begone went on her own one-woman marketing campaign to invite guests to our meeting!  She blogged about it, tweeted it, and sent out direct emails to all of her businesswomen friends.  We had two new guests at our meeting thanks to her!  Idea to take away:  decide on a one-time get-together of your own, or contact your local Savor Mastermind Group leader and ask if you can invite guests to the next meeting.  Then, reach out to those who know and trust you and extend an invitation!

Wendy Navarro, owner of Saige Nicole's, suggested we all exchange Facebook page urls, and post updates to our own pages mentioning each others' pages or websites.  The viral distribution through just this small group effort can be massive!  Idea to take away: contact just five or six of your colleagues who know and trust each other, and make the same group commitment.  It won't take much time, it should fall within your comfort zone, and it will get you in front of whole new trust communities that your friends have built.

Michelle Deets Haynes, owner of Clarity Learning, always brimming with great business development ideas, expressed how overwhelmed she felt after creating a long list of blog topics to write about.  This triggered a great response from the group:  "Outsource!"  The ensuing discussion reminded us again how we as women business owners tend not to be as careful about how we spend our time as how we spend our money.  Idea to take away: Don't forget to delegate!

Here's our gang from that day - we had a great brainstorming session!
