So you want to stand out from the crowd. You have a message for the masses and you want to be heard. You want to get known. You want to make a difference.
And you’d like to monetize your efforts without being considered inauthentic or GROSS.
Isn't that why we all went into business for ourselves in the first place?
Maybe our mission was initially disguised as a desire to have more personal freedom or less micro management in our lives.
But the truth remains the same for the Social Business 3.0 owner.
Whether you spent years in Corporate America, are still there, or find yourself struggling to share your message with the masses, the truth is, you were called to do what you do by some unknown force.
I like to call it your Woohoo Within™. That wise, knowing place inside that's like an internal compass telling you which fork in the road to take at which time.
Your Woohoo Within™ often starts as a whisper. And if you don't listen, it becomes a scream.
The minute I tuned in and honored my own Woohoo Within™, my life and business forever changed.
And yours can, too.
See, your Woohoo Within™ and Social Persona™ are like two sides of the same coin. One supports the other. And when you master both, you step into your rightful role as the Social CEO of your business. Now THAT'S powerful!
First, let me share a personal story about my own journey in tuning in to my Woohoo Within™ so I could create my Social Persona™ and ultimately claim my rightful role as the Social CEO of MY company Woohoo, Inc.
Once upon a time, I was very happily employed in Corporate America. While my job was creative, it was still 9 to 5, with insane deadlines and a difficult micromanaging boss. For 4 1/2 years, this situation worked for me. But then it STOPPED working for me.
And my Woohoo Within™ started whispering. When I didn't immediately listen, it got louder. It got so loud eventually that I couldn't ignore it anymore. My gut was telling me to take a giant leap. To leave the safety and stability of Corporate America and blaze my own trail.
Me? A trailblazer?
Truthfully, I was terrified. I didn't believe I had what it took to be entrepreneurial, take risks, and NOT get paid every two weeks.
And then things just started falling into place. Things I couldn't deny or avoid. I went through a devastating breakup at work. I started developing tendinitis in my arms, which made my job as a 40 hours a week writer more complicated. And the icing on the cake was this. My company was being sued and wanted all corporate creatives to sign a document that relinquished all of our personal creative rights to the company.
Now, up until that point I had been willing to withstand my emotional and physical pain to collect my paycheck. But my Woohoo Within™ just couldn't accept relinquishing my creative rights to some big, powerful force just because they paid me every two weeks. It wasn't enough. (Notice how I'm already revealing my Social Persona™ to you? My intolerance of injustice and need for creative freedom are core to MY values and something I happily share with the world. Plus, in sharing my own story, I'm showing you the value of weaving YOUR personal story into YOUR business' Social Persona. Keep reading!)
Fed up with my golden handcuffs, I quit my job the next day.
Again, I was terrified.
But guess what? My Woohoo Within™ was getting louder and guiding me into my future. It told me to cash in my 401K (I'm not a financial advisor and I'm not advocating you do the same). It told me to launch a website. It told me to write a book. It told me to build a coaching and consulting business. And it told me to get on social media and share my Social Persona™ with the world.
Each time I listened to and honored my Woohoo Within™, my life got better.
I made more money.
I got more clients.
Amazing opportunities kept falling at my feet.
And when my Woohoo Within™ directed me to start sharing more of my Woohoo! way of life with the world, I trusted and honored the voice. See, up until that time, I had been hiding behind my 3 best selling books. I thought that was enough to make someone want to know me. I was wrong.
The results of rocking my Social Persona™? I sold out my very first live event in 2 weeks. I started charging more for my coaching programs and found that my clients upleveled along with me. TV producers and movie studio publicists started seeking me out to help them take their brands into the social space.
That's when I realized the power of Social Persona™.Have you fully embraced the power of YOUR Social Persona™?
