Alissa Everett is a documentary photographer and writer based in New York. She began her career as an freelance photojournalist in the beginning of the war in Iraq in 2003. She has since covered stories throughout the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas. In 2008, she combined her passion for photography and philanthropy to create Care Through Action, a not-for-profit. Through photography exhibitions, Care Through Action raises awareness and funds for women and children who are victims of human rights abuses.
