I wrote "Beating Black Kids," because I am sick and tired of adults taking their skill-less frustration out on children, by using violence to discipline them. I get aaaallllll kinds of excuses as to why it is okay to give beatings to SOME children SOME of the time. But I express a zero tolerance for all of it, because there are ways for us to be more civil with our children, and teach them good, productive lessons. "Beating Black Kids" is not a punitive book. People have read the book and now workshops relating to its use have spawned all throughout New York City. I am on my way to speak at an anti-corporal punishment summit in Dallas, TX June 2nd too! BIG THANGS YALL!
