I am a 39 year old Mexican American woman and I grew up in Lima, Peru S.A. I have a BS in Fashion Merchandising and experience in the apparel fashion field as well as the home fashion field. Whenever I would wear my creations or my friends would come over and see my artwork and home decor items the result would always be "where did you get that?" and "will you make one for me?"

Due to the downturn in the real estate market I was recently laid off. Although the income is a huge loss I feel that what I have gained is an opportunity to return to my dream of designing fabulous accessories and owning my own business. iszi studios is a manifestation of my desire to expand my horizons, draw from my background, and offer my designs on a broader scale both on a wholesale and retail level. The introductory "iszi" travel accessory line reflects the fun, funk-i, rock & roll (my alter ego), edgy side of my personality with the sparkly material and crystals but the more practical qualities like functionality, construction, and easy maintenance are equally present. I have even created accessories for girls & young ladies on the go as well.

The other side of iszi studios is the hand crafted division called JEANwerkZ. All of these items are made out of pre-loved blue jeans. This is a division that speaks to my desire to stress the importance of recycling and reusing resources. The designs vary from shabby chic to rock & roll edgy and are embellished with everything from paint to Swarovski crystals but most of all love.

iszi studios is truly a reflection of me and all the many facets of my gifts. My hope is that it will continue to grow and expand into a company that will allow me draw from my resources and to give back in ways that are beyond my wildest dreams.
