I founded a children's theater by accident nearly 20 years ago. We have always been grossly underfunded and I have worked as a volunteer in this position since Katrina simply to keep it going for the children and families of New Orleans. (Yes, there were herculean hurdles here - continual Sissyphusian city bureaucracy not withstanding.) For 2012, we have a dynamic board president who personally experienced the life changing experience of performing in theater as a child. My challenge is to move the organization beyond myself so that the organization will continue without me in ten years.. My background is vocal music education. I currently still sing with the New Orleans Opera....
