Marguerite Padovani is a results-driven communications professional who specializes in high technology markets. Experienced in advising senior level management and in working with marketing professionals at all levels, Marguerite enjoys a reputation as a proactive leader in developing and implementing both pre- and post-IPO corporate, product and partner communications programs across all media. She is particularly adept in leveraging her strong relationships with key business journalists, trade editors and industry analysts in the Internet, eCommerce and business software arenas.
Marguerite possesses more than 20 years experience in public relations, investor relations and marketing communications, including the orchestration of trade show programs, conferences and events. Prior to establishing her consulting practice, Padovani Communications, she held a variety of communications management positions with leading Internet and software firms. Most recently, she was Director of Corporate Communications for CyberSource where she played a key role in creating high visibility in preparation for CyberSource’s IPO, as well as for the IPO of its sister company, Beyond.com (formerly software.net).
Prior to CyberSource, Marguerite was Director of Corporate Communications for Verity, Inc., where she elevated the company’s image to that of a market leader in search and retrieval through the extensive “Verity Everywhere” media campaign. She also orchestrated the communications around Verity’s high-profile entry into the “push” market, including integrating the communications efforts of three technology company acquisitions.
In the late-80s to the mid-90s, Marguerite held a variety of public relations management positions at Borland International. Along with managing the company’s extensive international public relations activities, she was in charge of developing and implementing the programs that communicated Borland’s corporate and product strategies to the industry analyst community. Marguerite also managed highly successful public relations programs for Borland’s flagship database and spreadsheet products.
Marguerite began her career as an account executive at the Silicon Valley office of Hill & Knowlton, one of the world’s largest PR agencies. She is currently a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the National Investor Relations Association.

Silicon Valley Ball Foundation, a non-profit
organization based in San Jose. The mission of the
Silicon Valley Charity Ball Foundation is to improve the
quality of life in our community by bringing together
business and nonprofits through fund-raising
efforts to support or organizations that serve families
with children, youth and senior citizens.
As PR /Marketing Chair, for the 2004 Cinderella
Ball, my role was to establish a PR program, produce
press releases, work with the graphics designer in
producing the invitations, program, and work on site
with media at the Ball.

working closely with web host company and designer.
Los Gatos Community Foundation,
a non-profit organization based in downtown Los
Gatos, active board member and Marketing Chair
for 2005 First Annual November 4th Catillion Event.
Jazz on the Plazz 2008 and 2009 Concert Series
Publicity Chair – arranged pre-publicity media
attention with Local Media and Broadcast (KCAT)
station. Promoting the upcoming jazz artists and series
in addition to Youth Jazz session (hosted by Los Gatos
Music and Art. Arranged new media partnerships with
Gentry Magazine and KCAT TV.
Orchestrated use of
“Flat Stanley” a literacy pen pal character program – as
our new Jazz on the Plazz Mascot. Developed look and
feel with graphic artist and will be used throughout
the series on stage.
