Miranda Bailey is a producer, actress and documentary filmmaker. Ambush Entertainment is a Los Angeles based independent film production company that, with its financing arm Cold Iron Pictures, is dedicated to producing original, provocative, diverse commercial feature films aimed at appealing to a wide audience. Miranda Bailey began her entertainment career as a New York theater actress. She appeared in a number of theatrical stage productions including Borrego, written by Robert Glaudini; The Seagull directed by the head of the Romanian Theatre in Bucarest, Sanda Manu; and The Marathon Years directed by award-winning director Anne Bogart. Some of her television and film credits include roles on FOX's Beyond Belief and the NBC mini-series The 60's. Recently, she co-starred with Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice, Changeling) in the thriller Hindsight which premiered at the 2009 Victoria International Film Festival and for which she won the Best Actress award at the First Glance Philadelphia Film Festival.
Since forming Ambush Entertainment in 2000, Bailey produced the cult hit "Dead & Breakfast" starring Jeremy Sisto, Portia de Rossi and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the 2006 sex comedy "The OH in Ohio", featuring Danny DeVito, Parker Posey and Paul Rudd. She executive produced 2005's award-winning critically acclaimed drama "The Squid and the Whale", written & directed by Noah Baumbach starring Laura Linney & Jeff Daniels, which was a Best Original Screenplay nominee at the 2006 Academy Awards and 2006 Golden Globe for Best Picture (comedy or musical) nominee. Recent films include Wonderful World, starring Mathew Broderick and Sanaa Lathan which was sold to Magnolia for a theatrical release after it's premier at the 2009 Tribecca Film Festival. At Sundance 2009 she executive produced the drama, Against the Current, with Joseph Fiennes, Mary Tyler Moore and Justin Kirk which will be a IFC release.
Upcoming features produced by Miranda include the action comedy "Super" starring Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page and "Every Day" starring Liev Schriber, Helen Hunt, Carla Gugino and Brian Dennehy premiering at 2010 Tribecca Film Festival. She also executive produced the coming of age fly fishing novel adaption of "The River Why" which premieres at 2010 Dallas International Film Festival.
Miranda made her directorial debut for her documentary GREENLIT which premiered at the 2010 SXSW Film Festival. She is currently in pre production on her second documentary feature as a director.
