Rebecca Taylor was appointed Communications Director at MoMA PS1 in April 2011. In this role, Ms. Taylor manages all communications functions for MoMA PS1, working in close collaboration with the director of MoMA PS1, Klaus Biesenbach. Her duties include planning, developing, and implementing press strategies and press events; planning, developing, and executing marketing, advertising, and media strategies; overseeing web content for MoMAPS1.org; and managing MoMA PS1 social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.

Ms. Taylor previously served as Senior Communications Specialist at The J. Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles, which she joined as Communications Specialist in 2007. There, she strategically developed and executed communications initiatives for the J. Paul Getty Museum and managed press coverage for exhibitions, programs, acquisitions, and other institutional news, and was responsible for social media initiatives for the museum.
Prior to the Getty, she was Public Relations Coordinator at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA) from 2006 to 2007, where she coordinated all public and media relations activities.
Since 2006, she has been an instructor of topics in contemporary art at UCLA Extension, a provider of continuing higher education affiliated with the University of Los Angeles, California. As a freelance writer, she has contributed feature articles and blog posts on art exhibitions, events, and lectures for various printed and online publications, including The Huffington Post, b> magazine and fineartsla.com.
She received an M.A. in Modern Art, Connoisseurship and the Art Market from Christie’s, New York, in 2004, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chapman University in Orange, California in 2003.
Ms. Taylor is an Executive Board Member and the Chair of Membership for the Southern California Chapter of ArtTable; a member of the Modern and Contemporary Art Council (MCAC) at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the MOCA Contemporaries at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA); and a Founding Member of Los Angeles Nomadic Division (LAND).
